ARDRES is a tourist town, with a past steeped in history (The Field of the Cloth of Gold), a warm welcome and the coast just nearby. It has the added advantage of having, close at hand, a 64 hectare lake, forests and canals.
You will be pleasantly surprised by its greenness and its communal gardens, which in fact won Ardres the 3rd prize in the National Towns in Bloom competition.
Come and visit:
The lake and its grassy banks; the magnificent flower beds with shrubs, perennial and annual flowers just next to the Post Office; the unusual mosaic floral designs throughout the town.

From the moment you enter the town of MARCK, you are greeted by the mill adorned with flowers, proof of the town council’s efforts to plant flowers throughout the town. To be a country town is more than ever what MARCK wants to be! The quality of its gardens is maintained in every season.
In certain gardens, there is a deliberate contrast, with lawn side by side with uncut grass, a method that fulfils the requirements of a system of sustainable development.
