Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise, Auxi-le-Château and Frévent are all quaint rural towns well-known for their lively markets, local fetes and fairs.

It was in Frévent at a time when machines were taking over from men that the Winternberger company introduced the first combine harvester. The Ternois is also picturesque villages and hamlets, small forests and secluded farms.
