Boulogne-sur-Mer,
is the premier fishing port of France and one of the most
important European centres for the transformation and commercialisation
of seafood products. 150 companies prepare fish that has
been deep frozen, frozen, salted, dried and smoked for canning
or ready-cooked dishes. A fleet of 195 fishing vessels are
moored in Boulogne-sur-Mer harbour, ranging from the large
trawler equipped with deep freeze facilities to the small
fishing boat.
